Signs You're Becoming a Channel as a Soulpreneur

hand in light

For some of us, running a business is more of a calling. We may have fallen into training in a modality or two out of interest for our own healing journey and wanting to go deeper. The likelihood is, this wasn't the 'life plan', yet here you are, as you felt called to pull on a thread and you kept going.

Perhaps, as you healed, you felt passionate about helping others recover from the same wounds—people ten steps behind you—sharing your knowledge and skills. It might even feel like an expression of your spiritual practice. You are a Soulpreneur. Now that you're an alternative practitioner, healer, coach, or mentor, building and sustaining your business is essential because, let's be honest, it wasn't covered in your training.

But something is changing and shifting. You feel like there's something more to your work, the way you practice, and the people you serve. That 'something' is trying to express itself through you. Still, you're not sure what's happening. These are the signs you're becoming a channel as a Soulpreneur.

Your Modalities Start Feeling Like a Cage

You trained in your modalities for a reason—they called to you, they helped you heal. But now? They're starting to feel stifling. You find yourself going beyond the protocols, trusting downloads that come through during sessions, saying things you didn't consciously think of. The certificates you worked so hard for are getting pushed aside as you realize your gifts aren't fully able to express themselves within these structures.

It's an intuitive feeling that there is another way, and you're now starting to feel limited by your modality. Yet the answer as to what your gifts actually are is something you can't quite name yet.

This shift can feel terrifying. What if you're making it up? What if you're abandoning everything you worked for? But deep down, you know something is trying to emerge, and the old containers are simply too small.

You're Just Not Getting Traction (And Now You Know Why)

We all need to build our business, and the reality is it takes time—to know what to do, build the foundations, create a body of work, build the systems, create a content rhythm, and build your audience. It's the unsexy truth that no one wants to hear, which is why those '6-figure business in 6 months' programmes exist.

When I started applying the excellent ethical business advice of Caroline Leon (mostly through her Mastermind), as well as Tad Hargraves and George Kao, I felt I was starting to find traction with my work. Check them out—they're all brilliant.

What has been interesting to me is watching how my business shifted gears each time I stepped into greater authenticity within my practice and aligned with who I felt I was here to serve. Before that, I just didn't feel I was getting the impact that was possible.

The most significant shift for me was when I started channelling. I had this intuitive feeling that there was just another way—a more personally powerful and effective way for me to practice—however I was unsure what that looked like. I had put down shiatsu and then decided to put down EFT to just 'experiment' with a technique with some of my willing regulars.

Suddenly my practice filled with people wanting to work with me, wanting 'the thing' that wasn't even advertised on my website. It took me six months to feel safe to own it and advertise it publicly—it felt uncomfortably woo. I had to 'come out'.

However, what I realized was that stepping into my gifts made the work more impactful and powerful. If I stopped hiding, there were people who did speak that language and they really wanted to find me. The lack of traction I was feeling was this misalignment.

Yet it needs to be discovered, and we have to be willing to be different and authentic to find it. That's how we realize who our ideal clients are, how we start creating greater impact in our work, enhancing traction in our business. Your authenticity might be the missing piece that's calling to you now—whether that's in your method of practice, the niche you serve, or something else entirely.

There's Something You're Figuring Out in the Background

You have this squiggly, following-a-thread feeling. You're learning, practicing, being triggered, working with clients, and somewhere in the back of your awareness, you're piecing something together. Your intuitive gifts or wisdom are coming online in a new way. You're becoming the person you're meant to be to do this work, integrating old wounding and new knowledge into something uniquely yours.

Your Spiritual Guides Are Getting Louder (and Less Patient)

The messages and nudges from your higher self and the spirit world are getting stronger. The dreams. The synchronicities that are impossible to ignore. The nagging feeling from your spiritual guides and the universe that you're supposed to be doing something, moving somewhere, opening to something. You want space to figure it out, but they're not exactly subtle anymore. There is a sense of pressure mounting.

For me, at the moment, it's in course creation—I feel this urgency and mounting pressure to create the work and get it out there. My husband said, as I had a complaining moment about the volume of work, 'Look Nicole, you don't have to do this course this year, you can push it back.' Of course he's looking out for me, but he's unaware of this internal ticking deadline that I feel about the need to create the work and start to get it out into the world. It's a bizarre silent pressure that is beyond my personal interest.

But you see, once you say yes—even tentatively—things can start moving. But if you keep saying no or resisting? The dissatisfaction grows. You might feel blocked. The dreams get more intense. This path can mean big shifts in life, in relationships, in how you show up in the world. However, it also means stepping into this greater and more expanded potential self.

You Feel Like a Struggling Misfit (Because You're Not From Here)

Many of the clients I work with, not all, are not earth-based souls. Rather, they are angel souls, have lived in the fae realms, are interplanetary beings, or are connected to mythic realms and beings or come from a realm of pure frequency. Therefore this world can feel like a struggle and they can feel like a misfit. Maybe you've always felt a bit like you're not from here.

The beauty is, for the world, that you have a different level of consciousness, a different perspective and way of doing things which you can share with others. For Soulpreneurs who are here to channel a message, healing, or a new perspective—you agreed to come and help, but you're struggling to be fully in this dense, chaotic world because your consciousness is built for living in a different realm.

So as part of your transition in being here, you're likely to go through shifts in consciousness, dark nights, awakenings, downloads. You're in the energetic washing machine and sometimes you just want to get off the ride. This process will help you integrate past wounding, enter new levels of consciousness, reconnect with your gifts, and feel more stable.

Haven't You Done Enough Inner Work Already?!

When waking up to being a channel within your business, it can require lived experience, learning, new levels of deeper healing to get to the next stage or level of knowledge or realization.

I've worked with healers and coaches who have been 'doing the work' on themselves for 20 years, and being told there is more to do can frankly be galling.

You feel called to do MORE inner work. Seriously? Haven't you done enough healing already?

But here's the thing: you're being called to do this inner work to realize the vision that's trying to come through you. It doesn't mean the healing that has gone before is invalid or void—it's simply that you are going to the next level. More than you thought was possible, perhaps.

Your Whole Way of Living Is Shifting

You feel pulled to do things differently, not just following logic and strategy anymore as the dominant method. You're learning to trust in a new approach, moving into intuitive living. Channelling is about letting something move through you rather than forcing something to happen. Being receptive and open to the information coming to you.

That means taking action with the hunches we receive. It might mean changing niches, changing modalities, starting a YouTube or TikTok channel even though it scares us. We are receptive and then take action on the guidance.

This might also lead to transitions—leaving relationships, moving house or cities, completely restructuring your life. Listening to our intuition is following a feeling and taking a leap of faith. Yet it is following a knowing that feels true and right, even if it's scary to parts of us. Our higher self and guides are speaking to us through our intuition, guiding us step by step, but we have to learn to listen as a way of life.

The Work and the Gift Are Inseparable

Here's what I've come to understand: the business-building work and discovering the gifts you have to offer aren't separate. They're woven together. Yes, you need to learn about marketing and systems and content creation. But you also need to keep following that thread, keep saying yes to what wants to emerge, keep being willing to step out of comfort, to test methods out, to be seen in your full authenticity.

Your ideal clients are out there, speaking the same language, looking for exactly what you have to offer. But they can't find you if you're hiding. And you can't fully step into the impact you're here to make if you're trying to fit yourself into containers that are too small.

So if you're feeling these signs, if something is shifting and changing and trying to express itself through you—trust it. Follow the thread. Do the inner work. Build the business foundations. Come out of hiding, one brave step at a time.

You might just be becoming the channel you came here to be.
