Receiving Intuitive Information but Not Taking Action: The Solution

Have you ever found yourself receiving intuitive nudges, but somehow, you're just not taking action on them?  Trust me, you're not alone.  Many of us get these whispers from our inner self, yet find ourselves stuck in the same place, not making any moves.  So, what can we do about it?

Create New Habits: Build the Neuro Network

Establishing new habits is key to encouraging consistent action. Our brains thrive on repetition, and by creating a routine, we start building a neural network that supports our goals. Think of it as laying down tracks for a train; the more you travel the same route, the easier it becomes.

  1. Start Small: Begin with small, manageable steps that lead to your larger goal.

  2. Be Consistent: Consistency is more important than intensity. Doing a little bit each day is better than sporadic bursts of effort.

  3. Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge and celebrate your small wins to keep motivation high.

Personally, I love the one minute principle of the ‘Kaizen’ method from Japan of creating continuous improvement. Kaizen: The Japanese Method for Transforming Habits, One Small Step at a Time by Sarah Harvey is a good book on this. The emphasis is on mindful, positive incremental change - with actionable steps to increase efficiency and productivity.

Community Support: Join a Community

Finding support in communities can be a game-changer. Whether it's knowing that you need to exercise your body, so you decide to join a swimming club, running group, or a ramblers club. Or if you know that you need support, trusting your intuition, you go on a training course or join a community of like minded folks! Being part of a community provides motivation and encouragement to make the changes.

  1. Accountability: Sharing your goals with others creates a sense of accountability.

  2. Encouragement: The community offers support and motivation on days when you might feel less inclined to take action.

  3. Shared Experiences: Learning from others who are on similar journeys can provide valuable insights and inspiration.

Address Subconscious Blocks: Examine Beliefs and Emotions

Often, subconscious beliefs, memories, or emotions can act as barriers to taking action. These blocks need to be acknowledged and addressed.  Personally I am continually doing this work as I meet the new barriers within myself blocking away as I grow into my potential.  I receive support with this through different modalities. I see it as a natural part of the course of personal growth.

  1. Self-Examination: Take time to reflect on any limiting beliefs that might be holding you back. Be honest with yourself so you can work on it.

  2. Therapeutic Modalities: Use techniques like Body Code, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), Theta Healing, hypnosis, or your preferred method to release these blocks. Even making it a bit easier to take action can make a huge difference.

Set Clear Intentions

Be honest with yourself about how much you care about this particular issue. Do you really want to address it? Sometimes we punish ourselves for not taking action on something that, deep down, may not be that important to us at the moment.

I know for me, for example, that my weak link when the pressure is on is feeding myself well. I've come to accept that at some point, usually once in the month, I'm likely to have a bowl of cereal for dinner, because I just don't have the time or energy to look after myself that day and I need some quick food!

However for others this will be non-negotiable, where as for me, my non-negotiable is that I need an hour of minimum solo time in the morning doing my practices or resting to feel functional and happy so I get up early and go to bed early. We each have different priorities.

  1. Prioritisation: Determine if setting intentions is a priority for you right now.

  2. Energy Alignment: Ensure you have the energy and resources to focus on this goal.

  3. Self-Compassion: It's okay if it's not a priority right now. Acknowledge it and move on without guilt.

Remember, the journey to taking consistent action on your intuitive insights is a process. It requires patience, dedication, and sometimes, a bit of trial and error.  But with the right habits, support, and a clear understanding of your inner blocks, you can start turning those intuitive nudges into meaningful actions.
