How to develop and apply daily intuitive intelligence to business as a soulful entrepreneur
I believe the missing ingredient to creating flow, ease and greater fulfilment as well as soulful success in life, including business, is developing our intuitive intelligence which we can do with training. We need to lessen our fixation with the conscious intellect and begin to listen to, trust and validate our intuitive voice which continually guides us - in all matters.
Day to day intuitive listening
I think many Solopreneurs are actually working, unconsciously with their intuition. To take a leap into business we're off in the following of an intuitive sense - an idea that keeps nagging at us, a passion we can't ignore, a gap in the market we sense has potential. To start your business was probably a risk and possibly inconvenient. However, you listened, and you began.
What I'm suggesting here is simply making this sense, this drive, this intuitive information more conscious and allowing it to be a valued part of the decision-making process rather than an unconscious one. Just like emotions drive our purchases (more so than our rational minds) our intuition can help us navigate the decision-making process day by day. How do we do that?
I just had ‘a feeling’...
We've all had those moments when trying to explain our decision making process where all we can say is ‘I just had a feeling…’ ‘they were the one’, or ‘that it was over’ or ‘that it was going to work’. It's knowing something, but without knowing how you know it! There is a great wisdom in communicating with this intuitive intelligence day to day, that fundamentally has the answers. Here are some examples of my responses to my intuition:
A clear root from my logical mind was pushing me to ‘run workshops on boundaries’ but intuitive self was saying a hard no. This response made me feels like someone is pouring cement over me. I’m not sure at this stage whether that’s just for now or ‘forever’ and I don’t know why. However I listen and don’t dive into it. (From past experience I realise that I will discover more at some point in the future - for now I just need to trust).
Conversely I notice when I talk about intuition or soul mission my soul lights up and looks like it is on fire. That’s important information, this is a good way to go.
A potential client books a free 30 min consultation - I ‘just have a feeling’ from my energetic response to who is actually going to book, if someone will cancel or if it’s likely to be a fit. So I conserve my energy accordingly and have other leads or suggestions for them up my sleeve.
I started a project of a ‘healing intention group’ - (after years of practice) and the immediate, channelling written response from my guides was “no this is not your purpose’. The wind was taken out of my sails. I decided to do the project as a pet charity fundraiser but there was never much fuel in the tank in terms of my interest after a short while.
Our intuitive awareness has a remarkable knack of telling us when we are barking up the wrong tree. It's usually more subtle than ‘a direct download’ for most of us, which is why for many it can go overlooked or unacknowledged, however it’s different for everyone, but it is whispering to you always. We just have to learn to listen to hear it, give it time and attention.
Somatic Intuitive Awareness
So how do we work with it? Well coming back to the body is your first port of call as this is an instrumental receiver of information - noticing our energetic and physical responses to ideas, or people, or situations. So we need to train our body's awareness - to feel the response of our intuitive intelligence.
We can start to use this somatic intuitive awareness skill with the people we work with for example - when we select the teachers, or the coaching programmes we want to invest in, or the people we want to work with to hire. What does the body say? What happens to your energy levels?
Your mind might tell you, it's a great idea and your heart might be exploding with passion around the concept. However, your intuition may know better - that, for some reason right now, this is not a good idea for example. I can't tell you how much money I have saved since starting my business by letting my intuition guide this decision-making process, as when you’re a confused start up needing to make money and not knowing what to do - it can be easy to be fleeced by courses or coaching programmes offering immediate 6 figure success with their expensive offer and so on (don’t even get me started on that!).
Do the personal development work
For most of us, the way we can be most effective when working with our embodied intuitive awareness is to become as transparent a vessel for information as possible. What do I mean by this? Well, it's about becoming clearer about where our responses are coming from.
Is this contracted heavy feeling that is arising from an old fear, a trigger from a childhood experience or is this a dark feeling as it’s an intuitive no? We have to learn, what is a trigger, endeavouring to clear them ideally (energetically is what I have found most successful) and what is intuitive information.
I say this, because from experience, it was very hard for me to decipher whether I was reacting to someone due to my ‘threat perception’ being out of whack and over active, as everything was a threat - or whether I shouldn’t trust them, and my intuition was trying to guide me - make sense? It can just end up being confusing and will erode your confidence. So we need to do the work.
Build a conscious relationship
Building a conscious relationship with your intuition can play out in different ways. The first thing to do is to set an intention to begin to develop a conscious relationship with your intuition. The second thing to do is to decide to give it’s voice value and weight, that, even if you don't understand you're willing to listen and act (YEP!), as in the long run, if you’re anything like me, it will save you heartache and it will save you time heading down deadends. Then start working with embodied awareness to start to listen to the answers from your intuition and keep practising this.
After that there are various techniques you can play with to receive guidance and information. For example, as I've sat here writing, there have been moments when I have suddenly looked up and noticed o'clock I need to see 11.11 or 22.22 , and I know for me ‘angel numbers’ are a positive sign that I'm on track. My writing and actions are in alignment with my higher purpose. Here is a list of some more for you in this vein:
Signs - you’re thinking of taking an art class, have said nothing but a friend asks you to go to one with her
Hunches - an idea drops into your head and nags at you for a project or book idea
Synchronicities - you think of an old business colleague and they suddenly email you.
Answers - with channel writing you ask a question in your mind and see what flows out as the answer or you open a book and let it fall open with a question in mind - it feels spot on
Guidance - Using embodied awareness - you ask which route you take to get somewhere and follow the signals, you then find out you avoided a big traffic jam by going a back route
And more… read more about these techniques below.
Visioning
In a netflix documentary and in his book Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke about the power of visualisation in his life for achieving his goals and successes. But when you listen to him talk, what I hear is him tuning into the reality of ‘future potentials’ in the field - that’s what he sees.
Joe dispenza speaking of tuning with his work, believes that when we work with deeper states of consciousness, heart coherence (through gratitude) and visualisation that we tune into the future potentials in the field and can heal, achieve success in business and so on.
To give you an example. In the earlier stages of developing my business, I would go into meditation and ask the question. What is the purpose of my work? Immediately, I would see the same scene, myself on the stage with a microphone, talking to a conference room filled with people and I would see myself signing books after. However I was looking for immediate steps and ended up finding it annoying, my conscious mind would be asking - where am I? What am I teaching? Is this symbolic, should I start a podcast? and so on.
But then more recently I received a strong intuitive message whilst walking, like a shouting in my mind - go have a reading! So I listened and walked into a witchy shop called Charmed in Cromer, where someone was doing tealeaf readings and unexpectedly could see me in 15 minutes. When she started she said ‘I can see you in a theatre full of people with a microphone teaching’. The hairs on my arms stood up. I told her I have the same vision, but I haven't told anyone. At that moment, I dared to believe it was true.
Now, this wasn't a vision I was projecting into the world. This was something I believe I was tuning into. A reality that is reaching back to me, that I am connecting with, something I was open to. Something that I now trust to move towards - even if I don't know what that is yet exactly, or how it will come about. It might be something you want to experiment with.

Answers in deeper states
Entering deeper states of mind can help us to receive intuitive information, answers and guidance. We can do this through:
Visualisation
Mediation
Self hypnotherapy
Dream work
There is a lot of research out now which demonstrates Neuroplasticity at work through practising visualisation. So not only can we receive information but by going into deeper states this can enable us to co-create as we rewire our own programming, or our own body by healing through using these techniques.
When we move from a beta state of mind - conscious level of mind to alpha or theta state - we shift our brain frequency to that of the subconscious, where change is possible and can be made to manifest. We are able to open the door that swings both ways, one which brings intuitive information and the other that sends it out - enabling us to create our reality.
Ideas and realisations
‘I think 99 times and find nothing. I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me’ Albert Einstein.
Sometimes the best answers come when we stop thinking. Have you ever noticed that your best ideas or answers drop into your mind when you're in the shower, or walking the dog, or mowing the lawn, or walking in the woods and so on. When you stop thinking about the problem, consciously and engage in an activity where your mind can ‘switch off’ albeit that you are in an active state - the answer just appears - unconscious realistations. I literally just took my own advice and went for a walk as my mind became a log jam and walking unplugs it for me, then the writing flows again…
Sometimes the best thing we can do is get out of our own way quite honestly! We can practise this by trying to live intentionally in Intuitive Flow. This to me is dropping out of beta wavelengths in day-to-day activities and entering into an alpha wavelength; a deeper state of mind. I believe when we actively do this, we enter flow states also known as being in the zone where we can be in high-performance mode, being naturally productive, receiving ideas or information and feeling deeply connected. We can learn to try to do this in our day to day tasks…
Working with our intuition can be an incredibly valuable asset to develop for the success of our business. We can play with techniques and find out what works best for us, as well as discovering how our intuitive voice speaks most clearly to us as individuals. The biggest hurdle at times, it's not hearing it, but believing it and having the confidence and trust to act on it. However when we do, that's when exciting, beautiful and deeply satisfying things can happen, not just in our business but our whole life.
